Episode 5: Boundaries and Friendship with Cristy Blankenship and Chelsea Cunningham

Tough conversations are hard, but loss of relationship is harder. In this episode we’re sitting down with two of my best friends, Cristy Blankenship and Chelsea Cunningham, to talk about boundaries and friendship. What I love about these two and the friendship that we have formed is that it’s honest, deep, and meaningful. We’ve all had to have tough conversations, but we’re talking today about boundaries and friendships and how important those are to have a deeper understanding of one another, a deeper connection, and ultimately a fruitful friendship.

Here are a few of the questions we’re answering:

  • Why are people afraid to have tough conversations?

  • If you had to let go of a friendship, how would you handle it?

  • Why are people more comfortable surface level?

  • How do we love people where they are?

My hope is this conversation will help us all have more deep and meaningful friendships - with healthy boundaries!

IT’S A FINE LINE. I WANT TO MAKE SURE ALL MY RELATIONSHIPS ARE GOOD, BUT THE RELATIONSHIP MEANS SO MUCH TO ME THAT I WOULD RATHER GO OUT ON A LIMB AND FIGHT FOR IT. AND I THINK THE BOUNDARY THAT I’VE LEARNED IS THAT THERE ARE SOME RELATIONSHIPS THAT ARE WORTH THAT, BUT THERE ARE SOME THAT IT’S OK NOT TO FIGHT FOR IT. BECAUSE THERE ARE LIFELONG FRIENDSHIPS AND THERE ARE SOME THAT ARE FOR A SEASON, AND THAT’S OK. AND LEARNING THAT BOUNDARY AND LEARNING WHEN IT’S WORTH HAVING THAT CONVERSATION AND WHEN IT’S NOT.
